ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The age old practice of Acupuncture has been in use for more than 2000 years.  It involves inserting thin needles into specific points of the body in an effort to alter the body's "Qi" (natural flow of energy.) The goal is to create a more positive balance of Qi (or homeostatic flow of Qi) which is believed to help improve many ailments including pain problems.  While physician-administered Acupuncture is not "main stream" in most Western countries, medical research organizations including the Mayo Clinic and the World Health Organization have recognized the benefit of using Acupuncture to treat ailments including pain, respiratory conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, palliative care, gynecological problems, nervous conditions, and disorders of the eyes, nose and throat.
